Yuna Zarai Is Making Music on Her Own Terms

Meet our latest shero.

Yuna Zarai, also known as Yuna in her performances, is an award-winning singer-songwriter from Malaysia with a long history of incredible musical talent as well as a sensible mind on her shoulders—she even boasts a law degree!

Discovered by FADER Label in 2011, Yuna has since released three studio albums and collaborated with popular artists such as Usher in their duet “Crush” and DJ Premiere in producing “Places to Go.”

“’Places to Go’ is a song about when you’re growing into the person that you’re meant to be. Sometimes you go through all these things that will change you as a person and you find it hard to deal with all of these challenges,” said Yuna in an interview with The FADER. “I was truly honored to work with legendary DJ and producer DJ Premier. I still can’t believe I have a track with Premier, it really is one of the best songs I’ve written in a long time.”
