This Book Discusses What Other Books Fail to Talk About With Virginity

Here’s one for your New Years reading list: Losing It: The Semi-Scandalous Story of an Ex-Virgin. Author Danielle Sepulveres alleviates the stigma around talking about having sex for the first time by recounting the details of her own experience, but like so many stories of firsts in a relationship, sex isn’t the whole story. The unpredictable journey of the read is what so many women find familiar in their own lives and stories, and what so many materials in educational fail to cover.

“Losing It is a book I wrote to help fill a void in the sexual education landscape,” Sepulveres writes on her website. “Whether casual or serious, the relationship aspect of sex is grossly overlooked by schools everywhere. It’s time for that to change.”

Keep an eye out for Sepulveres, an incredible emerging voice and advocate for comprehensive sex education for young people.
