Nighat Dad Is Fighting Cyberbullying in Pakistan

While wonderful for communication and globalization, it should still come as no shock that internet revolution has also spurred some negative effects – including cyberbullying. One Pakistani lawyer decided to do something about it. Digital Rights Foundation is a research based advocacy organization committed to enabling women the right to exercise their freedom of expression without being threatened. It focuses on women and human rights, defending these freedoms through policy advocacy and digital security awareness-raising.

Founder and executive director Nighat Dad was recognized by TIME as a “Next Generation Leader” for her research and training of others in technology. Tech in Asia got the personal scoop on what led her to begin this organization and why she commits herself to women’s rights in Pakistan and protecting others from the online dangers that can easily leak one’s private information.
