Nicole Johnson, Kathleen Norton-Schock, and Amanda Lewan are trying to change the way we talk about women in the STEM fields. How are they adding to the conversation? They’re making the conversation. These three ladies, who are based in Detroit, Michigan, are starting a podcast called, “Diva Tech Talk” which aims to share the stories of other women doing stellar things in the world of STEM and to hopefully encourage young girls and women to join the tech industry too.
“You’re going to hear great stories and interviews from women leading in technology across different sectors and niches,” says Lewan. The women spoke to Current State about their backgrounds and why this podcast and this conversation are so important. There aren’t as many women in tech as many would like, but for those that are, they have inspiring and empowering stories to tell about their own accomplishments and skills.
Kathleen mentions that many of the major companies are all “waking up to the fact that it is diversity that really propels innovation and that different perspectives is what’s going to make you successful.” It’s been tough to recruit women into the tech field, but these three women are ready to bring in female tech leaders to encourage others to join in.
