Girls Not Brides is an amazing organization working to end child marriage. According to their website, 15 million girls are married before the age of 18 each year. That comes out to be around 28 girls every minute who are married before they can fully develop and raise their voices.
Girls Not Brides has recently kicked off an inspiring social media campaign called #MyLifeAt15. Social media users are encouraged to print out this flyer and talk about what they were doing at the age of 15, the same early age that millions of girls are forced into marriage. Seeing some of the inspiring posts on social media helps promote awareness and put things in perspective.
For more information about the movement, check out the campaign’s website.
