In this particular study, researchers noticed that the women who experienced menopause early, were more likely to develop osteoporosis and fragility fractures.

In this study, 56% of the early menopausal women had osteoporosis by the time they were 77, whereas only 30% of late menopausal women had osteoporosis by the time they were 77.

Researchers are still not completely sure whether or not early menopause increases mortality rates in women, but there is some evidence that suggests that it does. Before researchers can claim this, further investigation needs to be made into other potential factors (alcohol, medication, etc.).
