Have You Checked Out the Trailer for the All-Female ‘Ghostbusters’ Film?

This version of Ghostbusters is starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon. From working in the STEM field to fighting obstacles, I believe these four women portray girl power perfectly, and I personally can’t wait to see the movie.

After watching the inspiring trailer, I looked at the comments section on YouTube to share my excitement with others. While some of the comments were positive and uplifting, I found many negative remarks and hateful comments about the trailer. One of the comments that hurt the most was one stating that the trailer was created by “angry feminists” and that the movie was “ruined.”

These negative remarks tie into the greater issue of sexism. Although comments could be discouraging, I think it’s important to remain optimistic and support these four sheroes as they take on this exciting role. It’s refreshing to see four women in the lead for this new film, and I know I’ll definitely be checking it out when it hits theaters this summer!
