“Girls” Is FINALLY Back!

“Girls” Is FINALLY Back!

By Natalie Cosgrove

Warning: A couple of spoilers from the first episode of Girls season 4 ahead!

It was completely necessary to binge watch the entire third season of Girls to get hyped for the first episode of season 4, and that’s just a fact. In tandem with the constant Snapchat (girlsHBO) updates and a perfect bout of Instagram hype, it was impossible to not count down the minutes to the season premiere.

Would Hannah go to Iowa? Are Marnie and Desie a thing? Will Shoshona graduate college? Luckily there was the Girls trailer that provided some insight on what we could expect from season 4, but it’s finally here!

Here’s the DL: Everyone seems to be “growing up,” which left us all thinking THANK GOODNESS, it’s about damn time. With guest star Natasha Lyonne of OITNB playing Beadie’s daughter and us finally getting to meet Shosh’s parents, the first episode was full of smart little moments of character development. The episode ended with Hannah in the car heading to Iowa (without saying a proper goodbye to Adam), so we know there is plenty of drama to come. There is so much to look forward to in this season for Hannah, Marnie, Jessa and Shosh. Here’s to hoping for a happy ending for at least one of them!

Best Lines of the Episode

“To Hannah, taking the next step in a series of random steps,” – Adam toasting to Hannah on moving to Iowa

“It’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to me and it’s the first thing that’s ever happened to me” – Shoshanna to group at jazz brunch (in reference to both of her parents being named Mel)

“What do Judy Garland and Lady Gaga have in common?” – Elijah
“They’re both white?” – Marnie
“No, they’re both bad b*tches who don’t give a f**k what people think.” – Elijah to Marnie on the entertainment industry
