Connie Britton Video Highlights How Feminism Is a Good Thing

Whether you know Connie Britton as Tami Taylor from Friday Night Lights or as Nashville’s Rayna James, you know that she’s all about being an empowered woman. Her characters pave roads, and Britton doesn’t shy away from doing the same in the real world.

The Representation Project, a movement intended to highlight gender stereotypes in film and media content, produced a video that highlights Britton as a feminist. The video plays on the general public’s obsession with Britton’s hair and signals “feminism” as her shampoo of choice. Britton goes on to say in the video that if feminism, the shampoo, is used regularly it can lead to things like the 19th Amendment and a woman’s right over her own body.

The video is the first step in The Representation Project’s goal to expand their #AskHerMore campaign, which is intended to encourage reporters to ask female celebrities about more than just what they’re wearing when they’re on the red carpet.
