People are always hearing that they need to eat more fruit because of how good it is for one’s health.
Although fruit is good for you (and quite yummy), there are several other functions/uses for fruit that you may not know about.
We decided that it was time to loop you in to just how many different ways you can add fruit to your daily routine. Here are four examples:
1. Fruit-Infused Water
If you struggle with drinking enough water, drink fruit-infused water instead! It is a great way to spruce it up a bit, while still providing fruits’ health benefits. You can use all kinds of fruit, but I prefer to use blueberries, raspberries, and even grapefruit. All you do is slice some of your fruit of choice, throw it in a pitcher of water, and let it infuse all of its goodness for a few hours before drinking it. It’s delicious! 2. Fruit Face Masks
Fruit is great for your skin! There are certain recipes that you can use to help with oily skin, dry skin, acne prone skin, etc. The minerals and vitamins that can be found in fruit are excellent for your skin. 3. Compost
We live in a world that wastes so much food! So instead of just throwing away your fruit scraps, consider using it for compost. Throw your leftover fruit in a plastic bag or pail and use it in your flowerbed or garden. If you don’t personally have any need for your fruit compost, find someone that will use it. 4. Hair Dye
Fruit is a great (and natural) way to add a little “something something” to your hair. Who knew? People use fruit as a way to enhance their hair color, add some shine to it, or change the color a bit. Blueberries, raspberries, cherries, and cranberries are common fruits used. There are a lot of different kinds of concoctions that you can find on the Internet, and it is a great way to avoid some of the harsh chemicals that are in most hair dyes.
These are just four examples of how amazing and versatile fruit can be. Their function is immeasurable and prove that there are many ways to incorporate them into your lifestyle. You can start by taking advantage of the many different health aspects that fruit has to offer.
