A Mother’s In Vitro Fertilization Picture Goes Viral

Real life accounts on infertility have made their way into the mainstream media more and more. From Chrissy Teigen and John Legend, who recently announcing their first pregnancy and alluded to the hard road it took to get to that point, to personal accounts that go viral.

In an image that has garnered over 15,000 likes and 6,000 shares, Angela Nicole, mom to a newborn baby girl, presented a very visual testament of all she underwent in order to have a child. As her baby girl slept on the floor, Nicole formed a heart around her with all the syringes from her IVF shots.

“I thought this would be a good way to both remind myself what I went through to have Sophia, and show her some of what her mommy endured to bring her into this world,” Nicole told the Daily Dot.

According to the CDC, about 6.7 million women in the U.S. struggle with infertility and in many cases may feel ashamed to say so. Nicole expressed that she found that her post allowed many others to share their personal stories.

Wow, what a photo. Thank you to Sher Fertility St. Louis and Dr. Dayal patient Angela, who shows the true definition of love that went into making this gorgeous new baby girl.
