A Bluetooth-Enabled Pregnancy Test and Corresponding App Shows You Puppy Videos While You Wait for Your Results

First Response has released the first ever Bluetooth-enabled pregnancy test and a corresponding app. Users pee on the Pregnancy Pro stick, just like any other normal pregnancy test. However, unlike any other normal pregnancy test, the Pregnancy Pro stick connects to the First Response app via Bluetooth. The app automatically starts a three-minute countdown on your phone once you have taken the test, and aims to make those three minutes as worry-free as possible.

The app gives users three options to fill their time: “Calm Me,” “Educate Me,” or “Entertain Me.” Calm Me will provide relaxing visual exercises. Educate Me will teach users about “fertility and pregnancy.” Meanwhile, “Entertain Me” provides adorable videos of kittens and puppies (best idea ever!).

Once the three minutes are up, the test will reveal the results, and based on the desired result you entered into the app and the result you actually receive from the test, the app will provide some next steps. If the test results are negative, First Response will suggest fertility and tracking tips. If the results are positive, the app will serve as a pregnancy tracker by estimating due date and child growth, as well as reminding the user of important prenatal appointments and questions to ask their doctor.

The Pregnancy Pro stick is hitting stores this year, and will be priced between $14.99 and $21.99. The First Response app can be downloaded on iPhone, Android, and from the Amazon app store.
