5 Easy Ways to Stop This Common Menopause Symptom

Women complain about insomnia more than almost any other menopause symptom with the exception of maybe hot flashes. However, curing sleeplessness is never an easy feat, especially when it’s connected to the significant hormonal changes that occur during menopause.

What’s a lady to do? Dr. Rebecca Booth recently broke down some simple steps to take on NetDoctor that don’t necessarily have to include hormone replacement therapy:

  • Practice meditation.
  • Take melatonin (it’s over-the-counter in the U.S., but you may need a prescription elsewhere).
  • Avoid alcohol and drugs (including caffeine and nicotine).
  • Try some calming yoga moves.
  • Steer clear of televisions, computers, and smartphones 30 minutes to an hour before bed.
