This Mom’s Cart Makes Shopping Accessible for People Who Are Disabled

Target recently partnered up with Caroline’s Carts, a company that manufactures carts designed to make shopping more accessible for those who are special needs or disabled.

The carts will be available for use in Target stores nationwide in March.

Drew Ann and David Long said they created Caroline’s Carts after realizing their special needs daughter, Caroline, would soon outgrow a regular shopping cart seat. They took into consideration that it is nearly impossible to maneuver a wheelchair and a shopping cart at the same time.

Ann said on her website that she hopes one day all retailers would provide carts catered toward families with special needs and disabled children so they are able to give an equal shopping opportunity to everyone.
