Celmatix, a startup founded by Piraye Yurttas Beim, aims to simplify fertility testing with Fertilome.
The health company is currently rolling out Fertilome, a genetic test that looks at women’s DNA to assess any issues that would make pregnancy less achievable.
Fertilome is equipped to test how a woman will be affected both in the present and in her foreseeable future. The test uses big data to provide a more comprehensive and personalized look at each woman’s own potential infertility issues and the best course of action for her.
“There’s no reason why we should be treating everyone with infertility the same,” said Piraye Yurttas Beim to Fortune in 2016.
The test can only be administered by a physician and comes at a out-of-pocket cost of $1,900 for the patient. Performing the test as a proactive step would potentially help a woman frame family planning in a more effective way and have more data to base decisions off of.
