Science Explains Just How Good Exercising During Pregnancy Is for You

Doctors are saying that women shouldn’t be afraid or nervous to exercise during pregnancy.

In fact, exercise is highly encouraged during pregnancy because it helps manage a healthy weight, which is vital in order to have a healthy pregnancy. Obesity during pregnancy can be dangerous because it can cause gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, blood clots, or even premature labor.

Walking is considered a great form of exercise during pregnancy. Women can also continue doing any form of exercise that they did before becoming pregnant (swimming, cycling, etc.). Expecting women, however, should always avoid high contact sports and skiing. Doctors are also telling women to avoid any back exercises after their first trimester is over.
