Ada Lovelace & 14 Other Women Who Changed the Internet

We’ve all heard of Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Mark Zuckerberg. They (along with lots of other men) totally changed the way that we use the Internet and interact with its counterparts. But have you heard of Ada Lovelace or Grace Hopper? Probably not.

Why is that bad? Because they (along with dozens of other women) helped create the internet.

Take Ada Lovelace, for example. Long (we’re talking 100+ years) before Bill Gates ever sat down at a closet-sized computer in middle school, Ada Lovelace was casually inventing computer programming. Creating the entire language behind computers while wearing a corset and dealing with nineteenth century gender norms? Ada Lovelace is a boss.
