2016 Proves There’s (Finally) a TV Lineup of Strong Female Characters

Looks like Hollywood’s finally getting the message! There are more women in lead roles in television shows than ever before. And not just any women; these are kick-ass, strong feminist women.

The list has shows returning by very popular demand, including Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Empire, and Girls and some newcomers to the game. Additionally, some of our favorite actresses are coming out with new shows, including Rashida Jones in Angie Tribeca, Sarah Jessica Parker in a new show Divorce, and from our Daily Show favorite, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. And of course we can’t forget, Gilmore Girls is coming back!
